Literacy

Reading proficiency is crucial to student success in school and life. Literacy is the foundation in which all other learning depends on. We need to ensure that we are offering the support, testing, interventions, and resources that will help ALL students achieve at LEAST grade-level proficiency in reading.

I believe that it is important for our district to equip and support our teachers. We want to retain our amazing teachers and attract new teachers to our district. We need to make sure that they have the knowledge to best educate our students through continued learning opportunities and resources.

Teachers

Communication is essential for a district to thrive. It is important for access to be evaluated and streamlined.  I believe that with a strong communication system in place, families feel a sense of community and involvement in their children’s education. I believe that part of the job of a school board trustee is to act as a bridge between families and schools to the district and vice versa.

Communication

Public schools have the power to bring the community together.
